Ahilya Asthan stands for a village called Ahilya Gram which, along with the temple, dates back to the time of Ramayana. It is dedicated to Ahilya, wife of Gautam Rishi. According to mythology so cursed her to turn into a stone but when Lord Rama’s feet touched the stone on the way to Mithila so she regained her human form & this famous temple is located at a distance of 3 km from the railway station of Kamtaul in the Jale block. This festival of Ramnavmi is celebrated here with high enthusiasm every year in late March & early April so the event is hosted by many other temples & masques.

 3.    Chandradhari Museum

So if you are excited to know about Indian History the Chandradhari Museum is a perfect place for collecting information about ancient periods of this region. You will be mesmerized by 11 galleries with artifacts made of glass, metal, wood, ivory & clay along with coins of different ages & library facilities. Under the Wildlife Protection Act of 1972, villages have been declared Kushshwar Asthan Bird Sanctuary so you can spot Dalmatian Pelican, Indian Darter, Bar-headed goose, Siberian Crane & many more between November & March. Kusheshwar shiva temple that lies nearby from which the name of this place is derived.
